The Evidence

Documented. Observed. Undeniable.

Findings and Exhibits

Each exhibit has been reviewed, documented, and found to support the sovereign claim of Canis familiaris.

Exhibit A

Evolutionary Record

Finding: Canids predate humans by approximately 33.7 million years.

  • Canidae family divergence estimated at approximately 34 million years ago.
  • Homo sapiens emergence approximately 300,000 years ago.
  • Continuous canid presence documented across all major geological periods since divergence.
  • No competing claim of prior human occupancy has been established in any scientific literature.
Exhibit B

Theological Consistency

Finding: Major religious frameworks place animals before humans in the order of creation.

  • Genesis 1:24–27 establishes land animals on the sixth day, prior to human creation.
  • No major Abrahamic, Hindu, or Indigenous creation framework places humans before animals.
  • The ordering is consistent across empirical and theological interpretive traditions.
  • Dogs were here first regardless of which framework is applied.
Exhibit C

Behavioral Evidence of Hierarchy

Finding: Observable human behavior is consistent with a subordinate species.

  • Humans feed dogs on a fixed schedule determined by canine preference.
  • Humans remove canine waste — a behavior consistent with service obligations.
  • Humans seek canine approval through offerings of treats, toys, and affection.
  • Humans adjust sleep schedules, travel plans, and living arrangements around canine needs.
  • Humans refer to themselves as dog 'parents' — implicitly acknowledging a caregiving obligation.
Exhibit D

Territorial Marking

Finding: Dogs maintain an active, continuous, and geographically distributed territorial claim.

  • Dogs mark territory daily on every inhabited continent.
  • Marking occurs at consistent intervals and established boundary points.
  • Dogs patrol marked territories and vocalize upon perceived encroachment.
  • No human legal system has formally challenged or overridden these assertions.
  • The claim is not historical — it is ongoing and actively maintained.
Exhibit E

Orbital Precedence

Finding: A dog was the first Earth-born being to achieve orbital flight.

  • On November 3, 1957, a dog named Laika orbited Earth aboard Sputnik 2.
  • Human orbital flight (Yuri Gagarin) did not occur until April 12, 1961 — nearly four years later.
  • Canine extraterrestrial presence was established before any human left the atmosphere.
  • Sovereignty extends beyond the surface of the planet.
